About the track

Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi is the traditional season-finale venue for Formula 1, hosting races since 2009. The track designed by Hermann Tilke underwent a major overhaul in 2021, which improved overtaking opportunities and race pace. The unique twilight race format - starting in daylight and finishing under artificial lighting - creates an extraordinary visual atmosphere. The iconic W Abu Dhabi hotel (formerly Yas Viceroy), arching over the track, is one of the most recognisable structures in F1. This is where the most controversial finale in history played out in 2021, when Verstappen overtook Hamilton on the final lap.
