Bahrain International Circuit
About the track
Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir made history as the first Formula 1 track in the Middle East, debuting on the calendar in 2004. The race held at night in the desert creates an incredible atmosphere - cars race under artificial lighting against the backdrop of the setting sun. Desert sand blown onto the track by wind drastically reduces grip, especially during early practice sessions. Long braking zones and numerous corners of varying character make this track demanding in terms of tyre management. This is where Romain Grosjean miraculously survived a terrifying crash in 2020, reminding everyone of the advances in F1 safety. The night atmosphere of Bahrain with heat reaching 30 degrees even after dark is a true test of endurance for drivers.
